Clearly today isn't to be for me.

Got an All Clear from the GP this morning only to come home and a few hours later re-open a wound that had healed and she said she was impressed at how quickly it had healed.

Tried to upload my Data for the Diabetes Meter than I am testing only for the site and data to be all wrong (all my readings are a day ahead so Sunday's readings fall under Monday and the meter thinks its tomorrow) I gave up trying to complete that. Very hard when trying to include insulin doses, food and Activity and Sickness when you can't see the logo.

AND...still on mushy food but I can just about live with that as my mouth is slowly coming back to normal YAY...

Anyways i'm away back to rest and read my book, I trust you are all having a good day...if not feel free to come join me and bring a blanket its nippy noodles here!

Hi Queenie. Good to know the update but omg take care though. When are you allowed back on to solids?
Jings Queenie, there really are days when staying in bed hiding is the only option!

Rest, enjoy your book and I hope tomorrow is an improvement.

thank you jan - I will take care I promise :) I can go back onto solids as soon as my mouth stops hurting. The whole bit around the back of my top front teeth is red and have a few ulcers and I have a sore bit on the bottom at the back with my wisdom tooth. I just hope its sorted by the weekend as OH and I planned to go to a new Diner for lunch.

That's what I was thinking too 2sp. Im hoping I will enjoy my book im near the end and its still not clear who did it.
It's when you finish it and you're not clear 'who did it' that I get worried.....

Take care, have you tried some good pasta such as angel hair coated in a good sauce like Alfredo or a tomato based sauce, as an intermediate to solids, QoM........maybe more filling!
Horrible having a sore mouth. I get Orf (a virus caught from sheep - don't ask) and it appears as ulcers and sores in my mouth usually every 2 months or so. Can't eat anything solid or hot for about a week. Don't know why I'm not thinner!

What are you reading? I'm not looking to spoil it for you, I just like a good whodunnit.
Question Author
That's only happened once DT I still find the book totally baffling and I'm still unclear about it.

I'm having soup for tea tonight but I do have pasta for tomorrow I'm it sure I'd cope with a tomato sauce though, it would need to be a creamy sauce.

Oh dear 2sp you have my sympathy there!

I'm reading Skinners Round by Quintin Jardine it's really good :)
I've read quite a few of the Skinner series. I thought they were quite good but Skinner had a complicated love life.
I'll have a look for that!

Hope you feel better soon. xx
Queen I am sorry that today has been so many ups and downs for you. I hope that you heal up quickly and are better in time for for dining out at the weekend. At least something to look forward to.
soft things like shrimp may go well with the pasta too - I'd go more the Alfredo as the tommy may be a little tart in the mouth. Need a recipe?
Question Author
I'm really enjoying them but I would recommend reading them in order. I was desperate for something tasty after completing the Stuart MacBride books and dad said I should give them ago (I had asked to read them aged 12/13 and was told no)

Thank you Grasscarp. I'm using my medicated mouthwash 2-3 times a day and I take 2 paracetamol or ibuprofen before bed as it helps through the night. But i am looking forward to going even if it isn't this weekend.

I'm not a fishy fan but I'm open to suggestions DT :) I was thinking mushrooms for some reason.
100 g butter
1 clove garlic, minced
250 g mushrooms, thinly sliced
250 mL cream
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black freshly ground pepper - personally I like more
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp chopped fresh Italian flat parsley
200g freshly grated Parmesan cheese

400 g fettuccine (should do 4 - adjust on appetites) could always go for a thinner sort like spag or angel's hair.

Melt halfbutter in a large skillet. Add garlic and mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms are tender, about 5 min. Add cream. Bring to a boil. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg. Remove from heat.

Cook pasta in a large pot or boiling, salted water. When tender, usually al dente but you may want an extra minute, drain well. Toss with hot cream sauce and remaining butter.

Add parsley and 2/3rds grated cheese. Combine gently. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve, sprinkled with remaining cheese.

You can add ham if you wish with the mushrooms.....
DTC you have given a recipe for which I have all the ingredients so will do this later - thank you!
No pun intended, "Two birds with one recipe" then......lol
smidge of chopped chilli goes well but not for Queenie though, not tomorrow!
Sorry to hear you are poorly QoM, sending you many gentle hugs xxx
Queenie

Sorry to hear of mouth ulcers and general feeling unwell.

Angel hair pasta is lovely and fine and can be filling.

It is very suitable for chicken noodle soup - soul food. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm in danger of drowning in my own saliva! Think that's tea sorted for tomorrow if I can persuade nun and Mr nun.

Thank you Flump and Jenny I will get there eventually :)

Green side salad works well with it, Queenie.......

Ooh I love a salad! Thanks DT :)
