Whatever reply I gave would be pure supposition really - we ca none of us know each and every individual diagnosed.
A Day Hugging Dad? That may be a little too long but it would help family ties.
Yes. It does not even exist.
yes, people blame ADHD on every inch of bad behaviour.
Here we go.

I really don't think it exits myself, there is too many people who cant parent so decide to get them diagnosed, the Dr's are the ones that diagnose and supply the pills. makes me wonder if it's a conspericety (sp) between Dr's and pharmaceutical companies.
Not all by any means of those diagnosed ADHD or similar are on medication, enjoy your conspiracy theory though.
I believe it comes down to what the children are fed on. Meat or Fish and fruit and veg Good. Burgers and Chips Bad. IMO.
Ash8, you have made so very angry my blood is boiling. I can only assume you don't have personal experience of the condition.

Whilst I cannot say for certainty ever diagnosis of ADHD is correct, I do know several families where the parents are intelligent, hard working and at the end of their tether trying to cope with a child with ADHD.
Often these families have more than one child but only one is affected.

ADHD has always been with us but has had different labels over the years.

Manlynn 30 years ago there was no such thing as ADFHD!........ .IMO parents who let their children run wild are parents who don't care!

sorry Jeza missed you post there!, you could be right about all these ad-dives that are added to foods!
If someone had sweets as a treat every week, can we/they blame that on hyper?
I don't know how old you are but drugs were first used for ADHD in the 1930s.
Ash8, try to get my name correct - there is no F in the term, these disorders have been thoroughly researched by many eminent professionals for decades.

I am not sure just how many parents you know currently, but whilst there will always be some who are poor at caring, many are driven to distraction by their child's seeming inability to settle and fit in and learn, with correct diagnosis and help within school, many are seeing remarkable results.

This attitude is tired, knee jerk and old fashioned and whilst you are entitled to it, I am allowed to challenge it politely I hope.
Ash, you are talking Sugar. Yes, it probably misdiagnosed in lots of cases but it does exist as a classification of some behavioural problem.
Absolutely, it exists.
