babies in the office

What a great idea - what a fantastic boss to have - and what a brilliant effect the children brought to the whole working environment.

not really, I can imagine a young baby being quite bored and uncomfortable in a bland office, not to mention needing the staff to entertain them as well as get their own jobs done which will be difficult.

if the company set up a creche that might be a better idea
no no no no no no no no no no no no no

i do not want screaming horrible kids in the office with me
It depends on how good the babies are at typing, filing and making tea
I've seen quite a few babes in the office !
I really cannot think of anything worse!

The thought of babies in an open plan office where people are trying to work seems an appalling idea.

Some might think it's the best of both worlds but to me it seems the worst of both.

Hi Kassee, I made a thread about this a little while ago

And I keep getting mixed reviews on whether it'd work or not, and the general conclusion I drew along with others is that having your baby literally in the office next to you would decrease work output and attention to work from the the parent and other workers around but everyone agreed that a creche on the same floor or in the same building would be the best idea as the baby/child could be picked up and dropped off as the parent comes into and leaves work and they'd have peace of mind and this would more than likely increase work output.
Some people go to work to get away from their children. I don't have children and the though of trying to work whilst there is a screaming baby/smelly nappy around fills me with horror.
What a studid idea, and I would imagine unworkable, even a creche is a distraction with people nipping off to see their little darlings every 10 minutes.
sometimes people bring their kids into the office while im working. so annoying with all the screaming and running about. Plus im on the phone alot so its highly distracting
"even a creche is a distraction with people nipping off to see their little darlings every 10 minutes."

Baldric this could easily be taken from their lunch or breaks or made up in overtime.
LOO, I assume you refer to unpaid overtime.
It would't even be called overtime more paying back time you took so yes baldric it wouldn't be paid.
I wouldn't like to work in an office with children running round, very distracting.
silly idea
