i was anemic with my first and was given iron tablets, they were horrible as they made me constipated. i have a much better diet this time around so am not anemic. eat lots of green leafy veg and some red meat plus orange juice and tomatoes to absorb the iron. dont worry too much i was fine with my first he was a week late and had no problems

i was extremely anemic throughout the whole of my pregnancy, was given iron tablets but i didn't take them as they did make me constipated and turned my poo a funny colour...didn't like that! i also ate really bad foods during the pregnancy-i never ate any green leafy veg

anyway my little boy was almost 3 weeks prem but there is nothing to say that's because i was anemic...he was just a bit eager to escape, anyway he was healthy as anything and 11 months on we have had no probs! oh and he loves green leafy veg!

hey

i wouldn't worry about it since your 35 weeks. i got put on tablets at 28 weeks and i've never had a normal no.2 since!!

one minute i felt constipated the next it was dihorrea (spelling) and it was green. once i got to about 35 weeks i stopped taking the iron tablets.
i ended up being 10 days late

if you do end up on iron tablets and you end up constipated i've heard linseeds help. i've been suffering from constipation since the wee one was born and been meanng to try it out. my friend was saying even a couple of spoons over your breakfast cereal wil help
