Sunday. It's a wee bit dryer this morning, but I don't think it's going to last.

After g/son being here to sort out the pootas yesterday, he stayed for lunch and we had a good old chin wag. Always good to see him. I opened a bottle of wine, as you do but as he was driving I had to drink his as well. I'm good to him I am! ;o} But Mount Ironing never got done, so it will have to be done today.

Tiggy enjoyed the trimmings off my sirloin steak. I reckon he thought it was his birthday! :o}

Have a happy day everyone.

Well,,happy birthday to Tiggy, hope you stuck some candles in ;-)

'Putors working and an extra helping of vino. Geez you've got it good Boaty.

Mt Ironing? Naaah.
>>>I had to drink his as well

Isn't it terrible, the things you feel you have to do for family members?
;-)

Afternoon oz. It's fun to watch tiggy. You can almost see the smile and sigh of satisfaction when he's finished. A lovely little fella, so he is.
Question Author
Morning Chris. It is but it's got to be done hasn't it. ;o}
I'm feeling slightly guilty because I'm still drinking at this time of the morning, Boaty. But I've hardly been 'knocking it back' all noght long; it's only the second bottle of beer since I started drinking at 9pm! Now why can't I drink that slowly in the pub?
'noght'???

Maybe this beer is stronger than I thought!

There's nothing wrong with that Chris. In army days it was sometimes the case, if we'd been on a night op to start drinking at 6AM or whatever time we got finished.
Coz in the pub Chris you need to "keep up" with the rest of them.
That's why I don't spend much time in the local, last time I did I didn't get home until 3:30 am.
That was many years ago, I've learn't my lesson ;-)
I'm only drinking because I'm still thinking of it as (very) late night. I don't usually fancy booze in the mornings except, oddly, when taking an early flight at an airport. Then I nearly always have a beer or two. I've no idea why! (It's definitely not 'Dutch courage' before flying as I absolutely love flying).

It becomes a ritual Chris. Nothing wrong with that mate.
>>>Coz in the pub Chris you need to "keep up" with the rest of them

Over the (many) years of my adult life, 1ozzy, I've always drunk with mates where 'buying rounds' was the norm, so 'keeping up' was similarly the norm. That was until a few years ago when I started drinking on Sunday evenings with a group of guys where (apart from birthdays, etc) we always 'buy our own'. I do seem to have slowed down a bit - but maybe that's just old age anyway ;-)
>>>It becomes a ritual Chris

I always carry a compass so that I can ensure that I face Adnam's brewery when bowing down in prayer, Boaty ;-)

I've slowed down a lot too Chris. It's a lot dearer too now!
Might be old age Chris, or it might be "just plain old sensible" creeping in.
I stay away from that "it's your shout" crap.
I'll do what ever at my own pace these days.
If anyone disagrees,,,well tough luck old mate..
Question Author
That's devotion Chris! I always know which way it is. I have a small brewery within walking distance of here. The owner is a mate and he always asks my opinion on any new brew he's trying. A very responsible job that! :o}

Exactly oz. The days of boat races etc. are long gone.
Morning boys xx
My Mount Ironing never got scaled yesterday either. Didn't even make base camp. Friends turned up bearing gifts so I HAD to offer them refreshments.!
Although I chose Adnam's for my post, Boaty, ('cos it's here in Suffolk and well known) it's not really my favourite brewery. We've got some great little breweries in Suffolk but my favourite 'big' brewer is one that the locals in Kent where it's based) always seem to criticise! It's Shepherd Neame.
Hello Jan, how many miles this morning?
