I have been having this since about July/Aug time. ..a niggling shoulder pain just under my right shoulder blade and nowhere else.
It did start when I was in the early stages of pregnancy and I read online that it is common to sufffer aches and pains during early pregnancy so i didn't worry too much as had tiredness and morning sickness to contend with as well.
Unfortunately I am no longer pregnant ( I got to 13 weeks) and the shoulder pain had eased off just lately but this week it is back with a vengeance.
I woke up with it this morning and I have had it all day. It's not affected by movement or my posture -it's just there like a toothache.
I am wondering if it is gallstones after a little online research although I haven't had any stomach pains or discomfort . (My mum became quite ill will gallstones when she was around my age and had her gallbladder removed)
I am going to book a GP appt for Tuesday but was just curious in the meantime.

I used to work with someone who had gallstone problems, and for her the pain would flare up if she ate something fatty i.e chips or fried food etc? Exactly where you have described.
Nothing sinister springs to mind and it probably is just muscular, but your suggestion of Gall Stones is certainly "in the frame" but as an outsider.

See you GP at your leisure.

okay thankyou both. It doesn't seem to be affected by foods just there all the time when it flares up.
