We have been trying for a baby and I have a regular 28 day cycle and now 6 days late. I have tested and get negative result. Could this be too early to test or is there other reasons for missed period? I know stress for example can interfere with cycle but I have had a relatively stress free month so wondering what else it could be- thankyou

it may be a false negative or you took the test without enough concentration of urine!

it would be worth doing another test!
Pregnancy and stresses are the two big "hitters".....the other causes are rare.

Test again in 2 weeks.
Most PG tests can be taken before you've missed a period now. So after 6 days you should get a positive if you are. Sometimes it's just one of those things. I also have a 28 day cycle...but on two occasions I've been two weeks late for no reason.
I remember my new girlfriend being 28 days late at Uni and shytting bricks....as we had't yet got her on protection, though we had used the haggis-linings but, of course, they still have a high "failure" rate. It was straight down to see Dr Fingers as the Uni doctor was known after her period came.

Keep up your spirits, the stress as Sqad said just adds to your 'problems'.....

Thanks for your answers everyone...im now nearly 2 weeks late. I have not taken another test yet as part of me doesnt want any more disspointment.
Although I have been pregnant before I have miss-carried so previous parts of early pregnancy are a bit of a blur....when other people have tested fter being 1-2 weeks late, by that time have you had any other pregnancy symptoms or did these come later?

Sorry to add...my first test I took, i did test late in the afternoon but i thought you could test anytime of the day as long as you were testing after a missed period not before?
according to our repair guy, it is not agitating but spins fine.
sorry chasing cars, wrong thread - I was like you, desperate to test and get pregnant, I never left it 2 weeks, but I seemed to permanently have symptoms just cause I was so anxious and my periods were really erratic too.
Lol Annie...

You can test at anytime of the day. The urine is just more concentrated first thing in the morning. After 2 weeks the hcg hormone should be pretty strong. It's best you do another test xx
lol annie!

Cars - did u do the test first thing in the morning? it's most reliable then. i had no symptoms of being pregnant in the first few weeks, but then they came and, blimey, i knew about it! lol

Thanks all, ummmm- i tested in the evening, maybe i sould have done it in the morning but I thought if you were late you could test anytime. I will test again this weekend but havent really had any other symptoms really, felt a bit nauseas a couple of times last week but nothing really else. I do remember weeing a lot when I was pregnant before and being thirsty but cant recall how quickly that came in relation to when i tested
Most tests say you can test anytime.
