Been made redundant while on Maternity

Hi

i've been made redundant and still on maternity. I was due to go back to work this month but wont be now

my mum said she thinks i might have to sign on as i'm not working now, even if it is jsut so my national insurance and tax contributions are paid. but i don't really know what to do.

i've not got a job lined up but i will be starting up my own beauty salon in a few months but until then i'm unemployed

what should i do?
