Who uses Twitter?

I just had a brief look at it, whats it all about?

I keep hearing about it on TV but I don't actually know anybody that uses it.

I've got about 28 followers, hoping to build up more. Only been on for 3 months, you've got to keep it interesting.
Seems to be yet another blogging type of service but you can only use a few words at a time.
i know some friends who use twitter on various subjects, didnt realise someone had to follow you, i thought you just followed on a thread, think ill have another look
Honestly I can't see the value of Twitter, unless one wants to 'troll' someone. I have been on it but it doesn't interest me.
Stalker's paradise...
is Stephen Fry one of them, Thomas? He follows a lot of interesting people.
it'sboring, you need to follow/have followers and they just talk nonsense. it's like that little thing on facebook where it prompts you to say what your thinking
Not yet, jno. Haven't checked my tweets today, I may get lucky.
I'm far from boring and always talk sense!

twitter is good if you like reading reams of other peoples rambling, probably good if you are a celeb, stephen fry prattles on, I have read some of his tweets, it can get a bit too overpowering, paragraph after paragraph of tripe.
''tripe''

Right up your street then cazzz...
I like my tripe quiet..
Ooops... I mean the meat connection obviously cazzz... not that you talk a load of tripe or anything like that ;-p
I guessed snags ;)
Until you get into Twitter, you don't really appreciate its potential. If you just look at random Tweets on the public timeline, it is pretty meaningless and facile - but if you use it as a tool it can be brilliant. Special interest groups can exchange info about their favourite subjects and embed links to webpages. I run a Twitter site for people interested in windpower http://twitter.com/UKwindmills if you want to get some idea of how it works. I love it - and I'm getting on a bit, but I wouldn't miss my daily tweets! :o)

Butch, you don't qualify on the basis that you're full of hot air...
Do I detect a note of irony in your comment Butch? If anyone is interested, just accessing Twitter.com will take you to their sign-up page. :o)
