The mysterious aeroplane. What was it up to?

Just over a week ago, at 1 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, there was a black, unmarked plane, without lights, circling over Heywood in Lancashire. The plane could be clearly seen and it circled for about an hour. It wasn't a very wide circle either. But we don't know which direction it went when it had finished circling. We were going to phone Manchester Airport to report it, or phone the Police, but by this time it had gone. What was going on?
Oddly enough, the next day, 2 men were arrested for terrorist offences in nearby Accrington. Coincidence or what?

Didn't see it in Essex. Too dark, I suppose. Or, maybe I was asleep.
Life is so full of mysteries.

I think most people who use this site are permanently pi$$ed.

Well, you'd think so looking at some of the responses.

Heywood is 20mls from Accrington (or there abouts) so it's unlikely it was something to do with the terrorist arrests (2 days later). It could have been anything, even traffic related. If there is a plane in the skies it has permission to be there so calling the Airport and the Police to report it is somewhat ridiculous. It was doing a job and had it been any of your concern, I'm sure you would have been the first to know.
However Lancashire is one of the prime UFO sighting area of the UK so I guess it was fending off those little green men from Mars..

I'm looking out of my window now and it's pitch black. If a plane was above I wouldn't be able to see it, let alone identify it as being black and unmarked.
I'm interested to know how this can be, not that I doubt I just don't understand.
I wonder if it was noisy too.
I think whatever it was it's something to do with aliens though.

Heywood has a large business park that has a lot of security lights that were lighting up the sky. The plane was very visible. Others thought it was a helicopter but a helicopter was circling as well. It was definitely a plane, was definitely black and it had no lights on. The helicopter had it's normal lights on. The plane was circling right over the centre of the town, as though it was using St. Lukes church as the centre point. We've seen the helicopter at this time of night on many occasions, but this is the first time we've seen a plane. It looked like a small aircraft, perhaps a four-seater, but no bigger than that.

That certainly is strange.
Was the hellicopter not there checking out what the plane was doing? If indeed it was a plane. Or an alien craft sent to communicate with it's spy. The vicar. I always thought there was something strange about them religious leaders. Would it be they wear robes to discuise their alien shaped bodies I wonder. :-)
O my imagination.

It was something we saw that we thought was very curious.

Read my last post again.

What imagination? You seem to be the kind of person that would fit in quite well at Springfield Hospital.

It could well have been a drone, but flying over a one-horse town like Heywood?! I just can't imagine why the MOD would be have a drone operating there. Who knows?

The helicopter is always over Heywood. Drugs, car theft, robberies. Lovely place.
