its the artificial sweeteners that give you the runs, although a lot of diabetic chocolate can contain more fat than regular chocolate.

the problem with artificial sweeteners is that they make you crave sugar, I have avoided chocolate thus far, the cravings go away after a few weeks

seriously, you'd be better to have a little bit of ordinary chocolate everyday. diabetics themselves are told to stay away from 'special diabetic food', and that includes chocolate. it's more expensive too and i really don't know why it's still sold in the shops.

It'll contain sorbitol (sweetener) and thats what gives you trotty botty. It causes a bit of a sensation on your tongue too, perhaps that's why you find the diabetic choc more appealing.

Leg, you're no doubt thinking of phenylalanine, but it's the sorbitol in them that gives you what my daughter refers to as squirty poo.
