Email is one of the fastest and most reliable forms of communication today, with millions of emails being sent every day in the UK. Signing up for an email account isn’t difficult either – once you’ve entered your registration information you could be sending emails within a matter of minutes.

There are a number of websites that offer free email accounts, like Hotmail, Yahoo and Google Mail; each comes with a huge amount of storage space and is easy to use. Many people have email addresses that are tied to their internet service provider, for example if you receive internet from Sky you will have a series of email addresses that you can make, like yournamehere@sky.com.

Email is very simple to use and is accessible to all, regardless of age or experience with computers. Having an email is essential if you want to sign up to anything on the internet or if you wish to purchase anything through internet shopping. Any receipts or invoices that you accrue while shopping online will be directed to your email address, allowing you to keep track of what you bought and use the receipts for returns.
