Good share trading sites?

Does anyone have any recommendations (or the opposite!) for on-line share dealing services?

There are just too many to weed out the good from the suspect

Thanks

Hi philg. Do you mean your looking for an online 'execution only' broker?
Question Author
Sorry - yes indeed that's what I am looking for

Perhaps someone who can wrap my share dealings in an ISA as well
Thanks. Having used the major banks and selftrade I am now considering changing over to http://www.simplystockbroking.com/

Only £8 per trade with No fixed management fees and no hidden costs.

This is not a recommendation but in my opinion worth a look.

I'll take a peek - thanks
For your info, I have not had any bad experiences with Selftrade.co.uk but they charge £12.50 per trade (each way) and have recently introduced a £42 per year account fee (although you can qualify for three free trades).

Simplystockbroking looks to do everything I need AND they support ISAs too

cool - thanks
Hi, I decided to trade through my bank (Halifax) and they have a scheme where you can buy in small quantites for example i paid £20 per month as Direct Debit and i was only charged £2.50 per month as trade fees. Im not sure the upper limit you can use on this scheme.
If you wanted to trade at any other time then it cost £11.50.
It was really easy to set up and maintain.
it allows you to buy slowly the more expensive shares or to buy into penny shares (TO BE AVOIDED)
