Information on share buying required

This is a hypothetical case (for a work of fiction). My character is planning on doing some insider trading. She is aware that it is illegal and wants to buy the shares under a false name (she's not the brightest and doesn't have access to anyone who can provide her with false documents or anything). The question is, can she buy shares without her identity being checked? I am guessing it is unlikely that she turn up with a large wodge of cash and say she wants to buy shares, but I need a scenario where she can conceal her identity when she buys them. I am actually re-writing something that was written before financial institutions had to cope with money laundering regulations, so I am unsure whether the situation as I originally wrote it would be feasible now.

How about a thick friend who would stooge for her?
You cab buy shares online and have a trading account but i did mine through my bank so they already had info.

That's probably what I'm going to have to go for if I can't get round it any other way, but it messes around with the plot as the name she has chosen is significant which is how she gets caught, and she has to be caught if you understand what I mean.
You might look into how to register for deal only online share dealing?

I've had a look, but of course she needs some sort of bank or credit card account to buy online, so I think I'm going to have to find her a dodgy friend who can sort things like that out. Thanks for your help.
