alot of the venues that are mainly hotels now have all in packages that include the photographer, catering and flowers. if you shop around you can get some good deals, especially if you go for a weekday wedding

We got married 11 years ago and the whole lot cost us less than £400. We got married at the register office (special licence though because my OH is Scottish and we didn't have time to post the banns there as well!). I borrowed my dress, made my daughter's bridesmaid dress myself. A friend did the photos, another friend did the flowers. We had a three course meal at a local pub and they did us a cake as well. We didn't go on honeymoon as my OH was posted to Canada with the Army, so we had three years there instead! It doesn't matter what it costs, though, as long as you have a good day. Good luck!

A more simple wedding would also be a lot less stressful! The less you have to organise, the less there is that can go wrong! lol
Also, I have found that the "expensive" weddings, with all the trimmings, are actually less fun for everyone, as it makes you feel like you have to put on a facade of seriousness. Do things simply, make sure there is enough for everyone (and yourselves) to have fun in the way of entertaiment, food and drink, and don't worry too much about appearances. If you save on the wedding, you can also spend a bit more on the honeymoon! :O)
