Yes, on the individual.
Get a free credit record from Experian. Just remember to cancel it shortly afterwards or you will be charged.
If someone at your address has a bad credit history you can lodge of notice of disassociation on your file PROVIDED your finances are truly seperate.

I used to work in a big high stret bank and the credit scoring included name AND address. Applicants had to provide address information for the past 3 years. You may encounter problems if the address you use has had bad debts etc. It is worth obtaining a copy of the registrations against the address from your bank or apply online. The fee used to be £1.

With respect WingsofSpeed is talking rubbish, they ask for address so they can track you on the electoral role.
They also ask for date of birth, does that mean you are also effected by people with the same birthday as you?

Wingsofspeed has misinterpreted the meaning of asking for 3 yr address history. Im sure he isnt meaningly "talking rubbish"
Credit searching is purely for searching individuals against elctoral roll, credit registered at those properties, adverse credit registrations, details of other linked addresses, bankrupcy, IVA and associated individuals,
If a search is conducted against an individual, credit information about other individuals is not shown, unless it it clear that they are associated with the individual being searched, e.g. wife / husband.
Hope that helps
