How do I get rid of my contract? I am currently on Vodafone pay monthly and I wanted to cancel my contract. My 18 months contract has ended. So I phoned up Vodafone to cancel my contract and telled them I want to cancel my contract. Then they telled me I have to write a letter. So I did. Got a phone call. They said I can have cheaper line rental 17.50 a month. I said to them its cheaper on pay as you go. They say no it isn't, I get this 14 days to cancel. So I said ok and got this letter saying its 35 a month line rental. Phoned up to say I want to cancel within 14 days. They told me to write another letter out. So I did, they reply by mail. The letter says I can't cancel if I do I have to pay 400! (rest of monthly contract) This is really unfair as I let them know within 14 days. I've phoned up vodafone and telled them and they think they didnt get any letter from me. I telled them I wanted to cancel but thet keep saying I can't so I hunged up cant get any sense into them. I dont know what to do next. Do I phone up again or cancel my direct debit to vodafone or what? I don't know. I wished I stuck to pay as you go now. Its not cheap im paying 60 a month. Dont really use it much. Can anyone can help me?

write to them and tell them you cant afford to pay the contract, feel you have been misled, and cancel your direct debit.
