Open letter to Number 10.

The Dups get their pay off
The Scots, Welsh, and even the SW are demanding inward investment by hook or crook
The Police need funding
The Prisons need funding
Counter Immigration needs funding
Education needs funding
The road system needs funding
Dementia needs funding
Parts of social care need funding like ex military support

Why not cut the Overseas Aid budget by 25%?

Theresa, it's not that hard. Trumpy-Dumpy can exit the Paris agreement - why do we have to kow-tow to this GDP% to dodgy Overseas Aid agreement?

And you would be a lot more popular. It makes sense, and you know it.

Cut the whole overseas budget to zero DT. The people who are in support of it are the very people who keep telling us that the UK is a crock of schitt, and the wage bill alone to manage it is £billions. Madness.
You make some salient points but I would advise amending the title if you plan to send the letter.

I'm hoping that someone in Number 10 is watching us, Mamya. Unlike Togo, I'm not advocating slashing it to 0 as there are some viable projects out there on the planet that need support.....however 25% would equate to £3bln, maybe not enough to provide the Magic Tree with all its money, but a bloody good start.
I understand how it fires you up (me too) just that words that some find distasteful whizzing through LP don't look good for the site.

Or within the thread as per first answer - maybe new Ed will see it differently, who knows.
Fingers crossed.
You missed the NHS.
I agree with the sentiment DTC and wish someone would tackle this issue and press to change the law, but unfortunately I can't see it getting throught the house of commons and then House of Lords. 25% is an achievable figure, 100% is not going to happen as some of it is not really aid but vital strategic political/miltary spending or good old fashioned bribes where we get a payback. reducing ours by 25% ould bring us into line with most similar economies. But 25% is less than £3 billion and whilst it would be a start it would pay for only one or two of these items before we start talking about NHS, public sector pay, free tuition fees...
"Not enough to provide the Magic Tree with all its money."
When a one billion pound bung was unexpectedly required to pay the DUP for propping-up services, the May-bot didn't seem to need much hunting for the supposedly elusive Magic Money-tree!
"Why not cut the Overseas Aid budget by 25%? " - why not cut it by 100%? I'm sick of giving money to foreigners, charity begins at home.
