Look in TTTs "Should MPs wear a Peckham" & scroll down BBC News.

Middle class families could usually find the money to pay for the procedure, and the cost of travel and accommodation. Poor people couldn't.
This is a good thing, as far as it goes. We're part of the UK and women shouldn't have to travel to avail of services available in the rest of the land.
and about time too.
Distressing enough to be in that position without your country telling you it's illegal.

Hear Hear.
Good news but girls/women are still left with the dilemma of how to explain where they are going. The op should be performed in NI.
Thanks Ron, it is a despicable thing that women at a very difficult time in their life have to travel for medical treatment.
That will p*** off the DUP!
Yes Ummmm it should be it is illegal here so it can't be! Only where the womans life is at risk will it be considered!
And even then nurses have been known to delay preparing the treatment!
They certainly shouldn't have to travel especially at a time that for the majority will already be stressful.
^ Good !!

(sorry, that was to Eddie)

21st century and all that
(I usually try to stay away from News section)
I know it is, Islay, but traveling to England and probably having to lie to do so just adds more distress.
Its a disgusting state of affairs it really is!!
a quick Q, do they all travel to England tho?
(as opposed to Scotland and Wales?)

If anyone wants to visit a long lost cousin in Scotland, I'll make myself available.
