How do Building Societys make money by the system of lease back?

because the building scoiety now owns the asset and they are leasing it to the client who previosuly owned it , the lease will eventually run out and need to be renewed therefore generating more capital thru time this process will generate more cash than the building society initially used to acquire the asset ... i think
