When you go on your Provident Bank Online Account, and where it says "description", if you change the name of the transactions (for example "ATM" and lets say I want to change it to "withdrawal") can the bank teller know I changed the description and will it show up the way I changed it on the paper statements? because our banking online allows us to change the name of the description of a transaction. so lets say it says "atm withdrawal" I can change it to "bank withdraw or flying bats." so please if someone can help me! I'm trying to save myself embarassment and also my mother. Yeah, she works there as a bank teller. oh man...

I have never heard of a bank statement where you can change name of a transaction. It is a statement of facts .Why would you want to change the name of a transaction anyway? I think it would actually be illegal to change the facts on a bank statement. You could write you own notes over a transaction on a paper statement but that would just be for your own use.
I am certain you could not change the details on the bank's computer records that would be absurd.
At Lloyds you can create new categories and name them but it is a private view Internet access setting only as far as I can tell. Probably the same for Provident I'd guess, but there is one way to find out.
