I know that the small prizes of eg £25.00 are just sent to your address, but I understand that someone comes in person to say that you have won £1,000,000 (I wish!!!)
Do you have to produce the actual bond and what happens if you have lost it?

Jenny...there are no longer any actual bonds. There is a record in your name with all the bonds you hold and once a year you receive a statement with all the numbers of your bonds on it.
There shouldn't be a problem at all with lost bonds but I'll let you know next month when they come with my big win....☺
Em..... I've never received a annual statement - and I've had them since the 70's.

I've only ever had 1 win £25.
Well, I should be so lucky, I've had my £1 bond when my mum bought it for me when ERNIE first began.
Then I don't know, Tuvok....

I used to receive a premium bond when I bought some......then I was told I could dispose of any paper bonds....I kept them....and all my numbers would be held by nsandi and I would receive a yearly statement with all my numbers on.

I have had two or three yearly statements now...the last arrived last week.
You've made me think now....perhaps you only receive a statement when you win....but then I win most months and I don't always get a statement with my cheque....puzzlement....we need Chris.....☺
I have never had a yearly statement of my bonds, only a statement if I sell or buy. I went paperless a month or so ago and now don't even get those, just email confrmations
Perhaps it's with selling and buying then.....but I know they told me there would be no actual bonds.
You can contact nsandi and they will check all the numbers they hold for you, against the winners - and they'll send you written confirmation of your numbers too. They did it for me.
If you know your holder number, you can do it yourself online.
I have held Premium Bonds for many, many years. I have never received a statement telling me how many I hold.

Well I am puzzled then.....I topped up to the maximum in 2009 and have neither bought nor sold since then....yet I have statements.

I did accidentally buy 50 this month when they reinvested my winnings by mistake and that could be why I got a statement this time....but I can't account for the others I have.....x
Maybe you get a statement each time you win and reinvest. I get the good old fashioned cheque when I win, but I don't get a statement with it.
