Average Savings

I wonder if any of the major financial institutions has ever conducted(I bet they have)a survey of peoples savings,it would be interesting to know what is the "average" amount of personal savings right through the full spectrum of employed people from a16 year old paper-boy to a managing director/CEO of a large company.
