But I'm always puzzled as to why people want to trace a branch from a sort code.
Can anyone give me an example of why the info might help?

The people who ask these questions, and there have been many over the years, never say thanks, and never respond to questions about why they want the information. Go on tilly, prove me wrong!

Thanks BenDTroy. Don't know why but I always feel kind of disappointed when I take the time to help someone and they never acknowledge the help or give feedback on whether it helped them. And with these regular sort code queries no-one has ever even taken the trouble to explain why they want to know. Strange. But somehow I think tilly345 might surprise us..
