Here I am yesterday sitting outside my fav fish place to go in and get an order - I was waiting until the big 6 o'clock when I could order and not get penalised. Along comes a massive jeep nearly tipping me but even the size of it was like a small bus. She hops out to get her order too. There was also other stuff but too pedantic.

Anyway what I want to know when you are the owners of these "massive" jeeps surely you need that big licence HGV or LGV - a normal licence owner surely wouldn't suffice.

I think if you only drive a small car anything like a people carrier will appear large to you - I often wonder how those in the little smart cars feel in heavy traffic.

I remember being in a sidecar years ago and that was scary enough.

Curiouser and curiouser, you take the title of another thread (see related questions) then your question is nothing to do with the drivers behavior.
I think JJ is simply enquiring if larger vehicles need a different licence.

Perhaps the 'other stuff' made her think, don't know and it doesn't really matter unless she wants to expand.
A basic driving licence (for a car) entitles the holder to drive anything up to a 3.5 tonne van, such as this one

unless the licence was issued prior to the end of 1996, in which case the holder can drive any vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes, such as this
http://www.jollygoodvanhire.co.uk/vehicles/7-5-tonne-lorry/
or this

(I've driven trucks like those on my car licence)

You can also drive any agricultural tractor on the roads (assuming that it's roadworthy in terms of having number plates, etc), including something like this:

Now that last one would have scared you at the chippy.
Big cars don't require big licences.
Do you mean the 'Chelsea Tractor' type cars?

We have a saying in our house. The bigger the car the smaller the....... (Insert own youthanism here)

Although some people do need bigger cars if they have a large family etc I do think the majority of ones I see about are driven by small men and women who think it makes them look good.

Do they honestly think the look like a footballers wife in deepest darkest Hampshire?

Inevitably they seem to be selfish drivers who barge through though. No manners or ability other than to annoy other road users.

OK rant over. Sorry.
Try asking some of the clowns that drive them to "reverse" them Jenny, if you want a laugh, to see that it will have you crying.
The 'G' in HGV and LGV stands for 'goods'.
"stress level" cassa ?
'I was waiting until the big 6 o'clock when I could order and not get penalised.' Why and how would you get penalised? Just curious.
I would think it's a no parking area before 6 pm.
I'm confused, in your fish shop you pay more to order before 6? Also what did the jeep driver actually do to annoy you? Anyway on a normal licence you can drive anything up to a Luton box van sized vehicle.

I think jj means penalised, parkingwise, TTT.

The other stuff was she her bumper (Was going to say) was hitting my bumper. No all I know she was way way up high and parked on the kerb - she didn't know where I was going but she left me absolutely no space to get out. Another car was parked right up behind me too. I have to say that would have been the highest jeep I ever saw. And the lady getting out of it was like a tiny person and didn't give a sh&t.

^^^would be penalised for before 6 parking.
