Limit On Contactless Credit Card

Have tried googling but can't get an answer.
I've been sent a contactless credit card and I understand that I can spend up to £30 just by putting it in or near a card reader with a particular sign displayed.
What happens if I want to spend more than that in one transaction? Do I then have to enter my pin. Apols if this is a really stupid question.

Not all retail outlets have reset their limits to £30 so it may vary.

Honestly don't think I'll use it much but thank you for the info.
Never used mine either, welcome.
There is another thread running on this theme. If it is a debit card there is a limit to the number of transactions you can make before the PIN is required. I don't know if this applies to credit cards.
