What was the bad advice?
Unless the policy was still active within the last 6 years then no.
If you want to claim on a policy that is more than 6 years old the onus is on you to provide all the proof, so you would need all the orignal documentation. If the policy was suited to your circumstances when it was sold to you, and you qualified, ie. no exlusions which would have meant you would be turned down for a claim and it was all exlplained to you then it is unlikely that you were mis sold.
