Good morning!

Sorry for the delay on this one. Naturally, I have been working on perfect valentines treats that are not only delicious, but postable and mysterious, and this has taken up all my time.

Anyone expecting to be over-indulged over the coming week? Or is it oysters on ryvita?

I've also been trying something called a "slow carb" diet, mainly as a way to avoid being hungry. It's quite good and can recommend building a few of the "beans and greens" rules into your own meal plans a couple of times a week. It's especially good for days after a bit of a treat, where you can be a little too hungry.

How are you getting on?

Thanks Ab Editor .

Well I had to do a pre op diet for January and I managed to lose 13 kilo then I weighed in a week after my op and lost a further kilo. I am not allowed to weigh in again until 27 Feb!!!
Islay...how tempted are you?

Are you feeling ok beside the obvious?
To weigh yourself I mean :-)

Sorry Islay, might have missed it, what was your op for - if you don't mind me asking?

Also, what was the diet they put you on?
Ummm no not tempted at all - I just don't want to become obsessed with weighing all the time.
Ed, I had 80% of my stomach removed and my gallbladder removed.
My pre op diet was protein shakes 3 times a day and a high protein with salad or veg no carbs in the evening.

Blimey Islay! Hope you're recovering well.
Well done Islay x
heavens, Islay, that sounds thorough. I hope you're feeling okay.

I wouldn't mind having 80% of my stomach removed, but they'd probably have to hire a container ship to take it away :-(
Lol I have to be honest - I am the biggest wimp when it comes to pain, and I only had one lot of morphine the rest of the time I have paracetamol which surprises me! My biggest issue is the tiredness and trying to eat 6 meals a day most days I am only eating 2 at 6 teaspoons a time.
Morning all when you appear with your results . My halo is glowing this morning 2lb loss and I know that is due to no cakes . I shut my eyes on the cake aisle when shopping last week .
Slow carbs are a great idea. One of the best lunches is a baked potato with baked beans/coleslaw, etc. Keeps you feeling full till dinnertime and the skin is very good fibre, which is also filling. If you choose the coleslaw option, you could also add in a small mixed salad for the vitamins. It also counts towards your '5-a day'.
If you can't be bothered to bake your own, you can buy frozen baked potatoes cheaply from supermarkets, which cook in 5 minutes in the microwave.
I sometimes bake the potatoes half in microwave and then crisp off in oven but a microwave large potato takes 10 t0 12 mins in microwave .
I'm trying to battle losing a stone with also having IBS and trying to cut out trigger foods. Been very difficult
I know I said I wasn't going to step on the scales until my official weigh in at the dr's in 2 weeks time but I couldn't resist it yesterday.

Well 10 kilos off in 1 week!! OMG!!!!!!
Islay I hope that after the operation
Yes Wendilla that is 2 weeks from the Op in total since 2 Jan I have lost 61 pounds which is an average of 10lbs a week. Keep going like this and most of my weight will soon disappear
10 kilos in a week?? What's that in pounds?? Good god!
