Hi everyone, I started the Weightwatchers ProPoints diet today but am unsure as to how many points I am allowed. I am female, 5ft 1in and 11st 8lb. Do the points you are allowed go down as you lose the weight. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I'm following the WW Original points plan and so can't tell you how many points you are allowed a day, but the points do go down as you lose weight.
Have you joined a meeting as they should have given you loads of literature with the points allowed etc.

Hi Jules, no I am following it myself.
I think the minimum propoints is 29 per day. I am 5ft 8 and was a lot heavier than you when i started and i was on 34pts per day. I am not exactly answering your question but i hope it helps.
You start on 29 points.

Thanks pretty and ladybirder.
Yes just found this http://www.minimins.c...pro-points-plan.html. How are you working out the points for the food you are eating if you have no literature. As an aid, if you have a smart phone, you can download an App which will help work out the points, I do this and it really helps when in the supermarket working out the points before I buy.

Hi Jules, thanks for the link. A friend who started WW a few weeks ago and gave it up has given me all her literature and the wheel which works out the points in food.
Aah I see, well good luck on it. I have been following the plan, along with my daughter, since the start of March and she has been far more disciplined than I have, although we have both lost, me nearly 2 stone and she has lost nearly 3 stone.

Good for you Jules, that is really good, let's hope I can stick to it although I must say I feel very confident (this time!!).
Thanks, yes, we are pleased with the weight loss, and it has been much easier to stick to this time, I think we must both be in the right frame of mind and I think it helps that we are doing it together so cooking meals isn't too much of a problem, only thing is Mr Jules doesn't need to lose any weight so although he is eating our meals, he just has more of them. If you ever need any recipes etc, just post on here, I have loads of the cookbooks :)
Why don't you go on to the WW website and join in one of the chat boards. Plenty of them where you will get lots of advice and encouragement.
at the week end you get an extra 49 points.as you lose weight your points are less,
I can work it out for you I just need to know your age please. Ruthie x

Hi Ruthie, sorry only just seen your post. I am 48 years old.
Hi Minniemoo! You will be on 29 pp daily plus 49 pp weekly. You have to use all the 29 pp but it doesn't matter whether you touch the 49 or not. Most people use the 49 ones at the weekend or wine, treat etc in the week!

When you are in the supermarket be careful which products you choose. Some will have the old symbol around the points value (nearly a whole circle) whereas the new pro points products will have the points enclosed in what looks like a saucepan without a handle!! Hope this helps and good luck.
