Sorry not sure whether to put this in here or health.

My mother in law to be was diagnosed with parkinsons last year. I would not have realised if I hadn't been told and I did not know her before. But there are no outward signs.

Just before xmas she was in her other sons house and tried on a pair of boots she had found and told us all about them - it turned out my fiance had hidden them at his brothers, they were for me.

On saturday I thought it would be nice to show her my wedding dress, I tried it on, the only comment that I heard was that I ought to try getting some of those knickers with lycra in to help my belly (I am a size 8 bottom half!) I should have found it funny I guess, but I found it very hurtful and cried myself to sleep.

Aparently it is the medication she is on, it seems to be like a truth serum. I have tried finding out about the illness, but perhaps if anyone has experience they could give me somewhere to look?

The other thing is that I now feel as though I am avoiding her. I don't want my wedding day spoilt, which sounds selfish, but I don't know how to deal with it.

My dad has had parkinsons for years and although it affects his movement and speech, it definately hasn't affected him in that way.

He has been on various different medications over the years an none have had that effect.

Are you sure hasn't always been like this?

Thank you CC.

I have been told by both her sons and her sister in law that she has changed and now is not afraid of speaking her mind, sometimes a litte too much. She may not realise she is doing it because I don't think anyone wants to upset her.

I am new to all this and know that it affects different people in different ways, so any guidance would help.
