I believe that there's a difference between 'not loving a person' and 'hating a person'. What do you think?

personally i wouldnt hate a person, it only brings burden to my own mind, senseless. if i have to leave someone i loved for the hurt he caused , i wont hate him either, at least, appreciated the good time you had, and try to forget the bad things and move on.

huge difference. I do not love Brad Pitt but I would have to know him before I could hate him.

There is a huge huge difference between 'not loving' and hating. Hate is a very strong word and a very negative emotion. I don't think I hate anyone - but there are plenty of people out there I certainly don't love.

We all seem to be in agreement here, i would love to love Brad Pitt but cant, but i dont hate him for it !!!
but your question seems very vague, i wonder if there is a more definitive question behind this seemingly open question ???

I am with sallabananas on this,
There HAVE been some people in my (61 year) life I could have hated, but it IS a negative emotion and I have seen so many people "eaten" up by it.
There are also plenty of people (mainly acquaintances) who I don't love, but certainly do not hate either.
Hate (I believe) is just a step away from revenge (they are two sides of a coin reall) and don't usually achieve anything, except to destro the hater/revenger in the end, because the object of the hate doesn't realise it,and this rebounds on the person doing the hating.
