She has thrown a hissy fit because we women know damned well what many men get up to on a men only holiday. It could also be because she hasn't had/never gets a break.
My other half goes away every year for a few days leaving me with our son, he takes his son from his first marriage but refuses to take our lad. I never get a break from parenting.

This is something that cropped up between him and me recently. It's all very well having a social life outside of the relationship as long as you have a social life within the relationship.

I'm not answering for Daffy but I believe her son is only 13. I presuming his brother is quite a bit older.

I feel for daffys son - how must he feel with his dad taking his brother away and not him?
'only' 13? at 'only' xx age after babyhood he would be old enough to stay with his dad for a weekend

My meaning is...It depends what they do on their weekend away. It might be unsuitable...Daffy's son has aspergers.
But I do agree, he should take his other son away on a separate weekend if that's the case.

you need to talk and compromise a little, she may feel peeved that you are going off to enjoy yourself and she is stuck at home. if the situation was reversed im sure you would feel the same. does she get the opportunity for time away? do you go away together much? Im sure you can come to an arrangement where you can both enjoy a break occasionally
