Opinions please

I have recently split up with my boyfriend. It was a mutual agreement, however he has started saying things like "i want the necklace I bought you last christmas back" etc. My question is, is this a reasonable request or just downright childish? TIA xx

advice ... sell it and spend the cash on shoes ... ?
It sounds like he less than comfortable with this mutual split......or has he always been 'controlling'?
i would just say "sorry it was cheap tat and i sold it"
Question Author
Looking back I think he's probably always been controlling, the reason we broke up is because I was planning on moving out of his house to move in with my sister to help her out as she couldnt afford it by herself, he didn't like it and decided he couldn't be with someone that doesn't want to live with him. So we talked about it and came to the agreement we would break up. He let me stay with him until I had somewhere to go, but now being like this xx
Ohhhhhhh....his plan backfired!!
Question Author
That's what is probably is haha. I've seen too many people being controlled that I won't stand for it, maybe he didn't like that xx
God,what kind of guy would ask that?Do you think he's turning into a transvestite?Tell him it wouldn't suit him.
How fantastic that you broke up! Can you imagine having settled down for life with such an idiot?

I would wonder if you really would want to wear that necklace again anyway. Tell him you gave it to a charity shop.
Question Author
To be honest I never wore it anyway, because I was petrified of breaking it after being told how much it cost. So wouldn't wear it that much. But it is more the principle behind it if that makes sense xx
Yes it does! Agree with all the others, keep it or sell it, don't give it back, it was a gift.
Tell him if he wants it-it's on Ebay

According to the dictionary,a gift is something that is *voluntarily* given with *no* strings attached. He's just making himself look vindictive and nasty.
Question Author
Well I gave him an option, either I have the jewelry or I have half the holiday money. First he said no to both and when I pointed out
To him that I could just give him 300 pounds less than I owe him, he opted for me having the jewelry haha. No loss though I'll probably sell it, it was a matter of principle. Thanks everyone for your opinions though, I thought it might have just been me thinking he was childish x
tell him you pawned it but will give him half - and then offer him a tenner. either thato just ignore him - what a ridiculous suggestion - you don't ask for gifts back when you split up...... you're better off without him x
the only jewelry that need be returned on a break up is an engagement ring - thats not a gift as such.

tell him to grow up...tell him this behaviour is just making you realise you have made the right choice...
he is a rat - so he wants presents back ???? lovely - you are well rid my dear well rid - ignore all messages -
