Yes........try and avoid contact with him for the next 4-6days.

If you follow the instructions above, it is extremely unlikely that you will contract shingles.
pls stay away, shingles is very painful indeed and takes a long time to go and often recurs.
My poor Grandma had it start over one eye it went over her head and through her hair and down her back, she couldnt wash her hair and that made her feel even worse.
Just stay away until he is better as a precaution.
Hope all will be well for you.
My brother's MIl came into contact with his son when he had chicken pox and shingles recurred.

As sqad says, STAY AWAY
I thought if you had chicken pox once you wouldn't catch it again? Is this just a myth??

Sorry to intrude sphinxy
puma.......you can catch it again after having it as a child, but it is extremely uncommon.
It's a myth puma...my Sister had it twice.
It is rare to catch chicken pox again if you have had it but the virus lies dormant in you and you can develop shingles if you come into contact with chicken pox again. As explained to me by dcotor after contacting chicken pox in my 30's
ummmm....your sister was diagnosed with it twice..................whether sh had chickenpox twice is another matter.
Can you get shingles just from stress and not from being exposed to the virus (after having chicken pox as a child)?
237SJ.........Yes.
