Mini Stroke

My Dad had a mini stroke 2-3 months ago. He has had loads of appointments for ECG's, blood tests, etc since then and is still getting more although they do seem to be slowing down a bit. From something he said a while ago he gave the impression that a nurse who visited him at work seemed to be surprised with all the appointments he has had. I get the feeling he is not always upfront about what he is told in these appointments, he says very little. He mentioned the other night that he is not sleeping well as he has things on his mind but wouldn't say what and I can only really put it down to his health. Is it normal to have a lot of appointments after a mini stroke and what are the chances of him having another?

He has roughly a 30% chance of having a major stroke.

Investigations include ECG and MRI brain scan at least....that is why, presumably he has multiple appointments.
