sore feet!

I bought a new pair of shoes that are made from man made fibres.  After the first wear I was crippled.  I have shoe trees but they don't seem to have any effect, maybe because they are not leather.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to make them wider?

I thought you could only stretch leather shoes/boots. Shame you can't accidentally damage them & take them back to the shop (naughty, naughty), or if they were inexoensive, give them to a charity shop & start again.
*inexpensive

to get a tiny bit of width, try heating them prior to wearing (use a hairdryer) - this may help a little, but not much.

They must have been a very good price or you would not have bought the wrong size. I would sell them on an online auction site and start over.
