Hi

I have been reccomended a book about Mindfulness to help with anxiety. It is called "the mindful way through depression". Has anyone used this book or technique? If so how easy is it to follow and how effective?

Thanks in advance :-)

I don't know about that book, but if it involves meditation you might want to have a look at Mindfulness in Plain English here. You can download the book in PDF format and try practicing the techniques.

It is a Bhuddist meditation manual, and though I haven't had the patience to learn and practice it, the Bhuddists I've met have all been serene and happy people.
mite try this myself....nice one huderon
I don't know this book but had a lot of therapy at one stage in my life and the issue of mindfulness was a huge part of my recovery. Most of the therapy the mental health service use here in the UK is based on Buddhism and their teachings on mindfulness. It just makes sense and is incredibly calming once you grasp it. I thought I was destined to live an anxious life forever but I'm well and truly cured now and I'm sure you'll be the same (especially if you're open to mindfulness). Thanks for the book recommendation and
Good Luck :-)
