broken toe?

I caught my little toe on the underneath of the hoover and propelled it about 4 foot across the room the hoover not the toe!, this was about 4 mths ago now and my toe is still twice the size of my other one and the skin on it has started to go really dry and is cracking although the nail on it is still perfectly intact it still gives me pain and i was wondering if anything could be done as i didnt go to the hospital in the first place when i did it because everyone kept telling me that they dont do nothing now days for a broken toe! i cant wear any tight fittin shoes as it gives me too much pain so i have been living in my trainers and crocs! its now about 4mths since i did it and im worried it wont heal ever! thanks in advance x

It needs to be x-rayed and diagnosed - insist your GP refers you fot this.
