Has anyone heard of a heat related head ache.
I've had a constant headache since Sunday and it seems to get 10 times worse when I go outside or away from a fan. It's agony on my left eye and probably the left side of my face. My migraine tablets dull the pain but after 2 hours it starts hurting again.
Anyone got any advice?

Does it seem really centred on one eye? If it does, it could be a "cluster" headache. They are awful and can last a few days. No painkiller seems to shift them.

It could be sinus pain, I get it a lot, especially when the weather changes. The fan is lowering the air pressure & temporarily eases the pain. It could be an infection, virus or allergy. Do you have hayfever? I've found that a non-drowsy antihistamine has helped me, I had it all week recently & ended up with a 2 day migraine - you have my sympathy.
If you don't start to improve very soon see your gp, as Patricia says we can only share experiences we can't diagnose.
Drink plenty of water, being dehyrated will make you feel worse.

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. I am light sensitive and whenever the warm weather arrives, so do my migraines. They seem to get worse when I am a little dehydrated. Warm, bright weather and dehydration are known to be triggers for migraines. I take normal painkillers and sometimes the headache goes and sometimes it comes back within a couple of hours and can last days. As can the nausea which accompanies it. Mine occurs on the right hand side and I can often be seen walking around the office with one eye closed because the pain sears behind my eye. My headache calms down when I am still and it is walking around or simply moving my head that causes the worst pain. I am often seen as strange because I hate the summer weather and love the cold and somewhat less painful (for me) winter season. I haven't really been able to offer any advice because after suffering from this for the best part of 15 years, I simply accept it although I do find if I can prevent myself from becoming dehydrated in warm weather it does have an effect. Being told that it was a form of migraine and not something more sinister was a big relief for me. If in doubt though, please see your GP.
