Quick fix for temporary stress

I am very stressed at the moment but hope I will be Ok in a few days when it is resolved. At the moment however, I feel very spaced out, no concentration, find it hard to have a conversation and just feeling rough - a bit like PMT but im too old for that now. Does anyone know any remedies to get me through the weekend?

I suffer from a lot of stress myself , I find walking to be a massive help . Sometimes it takes me hours to actually get up & do it but always feel better when I do

I don't like it myself but Chamomile tea works for a lot of people. Deep breathing exercises, (especially after a walk, as wisely suggested above) ,can be a great help. Sit with your thumbs and forefingers touching. Palms up, you will breathe from your chest, palms down you will breathe from your stomach. If you alternate between the two, I find it relaxing. It's one of the most useful things I've ever learnt in Yoga classes to date.

If you have any garden, go out and dig a bit of it up. The exercise frees up your brain and makes you physically tired, the fresh air too, so you are more likely to sleep well. Which 'knits up the ravelled sleeve of care,' according to wm shakespeare.

I've been feeling stressed and depressive for the last couple of weeks. I'm just feeling a bit lonely at the moment.

Swimming works a treat! Do as many lengths as possible and push yourself that bit harder....When I go I take all my shampoo shower gel etc, and take a nice hot shower afterwards...I dont care whos waiting to use the showers, I just take my time and appreciate the time for me

Sir Alec- please explain the palms up and down thing! Sounds really good but I don't really understand how you do it.
