Could Spironolact be my problem?

Okay, i'm on spironolact, which my dermatologist put me on and for some reason I haven't had my period. I've been on it for about a month now and haven't had it since. I'm not sexually active with my boyfriend but am still scared something may have happened when we were " messing around". Then again I may be over-reacting and it may be the pill. I have read up on the pill but nobody said anything about an irregular period... I'm 16

any information?? anybody else on spironolact?

you need to find out soon as your medicine is contra-indicated in pregnancy

Sara,

One of the side effects of this drug is menstrual irregularities so this is probably why you have not had a period. However, if you think you are at risk of pregnancy because of 'messing around' I would strongly advise a pregnancy test as this drug can cause abnormalities in a growing foetus.

Thanks guys...Good news, I just recently started my period and no longer need to worry about pregnancy.. I am confident that having it so late/ skipping the month of June was from the Spyronolact. =]
