Nasty habit - Eating my inpetigo crusts

Ok so this isnt a joke, I developed this really nasty habit a year or so ago when i developed pretty bad eczema on my legs which got badly treated mainly because I lived too much of a busy life to get it sorted. Anyway i developed impetigo infections which kept coming back and i started eating the yellowy crusts, god knows why it just sorta happened.

Now i'm worried what it'll do to me. I never swallowed them whole more like bit them between my bottom and top incisors. Can it kill me or anything? I have a slightly suppressed immune system but in good health generally. Please give me serious answers and not stuff like 'you sick weirdo' or something :P. Thanks and sorry if this sickens you.

i really hope this isn't a joke

unless you are boiling all of your clothes (including bed linin, towels etc) then washing them you will carry on having the infection.
please stop eating the scabs!

Nah they are just light small ones on slight patches of my legs, nothing wow. I got some anti-biotics for it but since i have a suppressed immune-system it doesn't take much for infections to return, i went 4 months without it then it's back.

But my main worry was was eating the crusts would do something seriously bad to my body, like kill me or something? give me some disease? thanks jane.

i don't know if it will harm you inside but impetigo is very contagious so if you plan to kiss anyone maybe think twice

have a look here

Mark, I've had impetigo and it's really not nice is it?
Anyway, I think this habit you've developed is more than a little unusual and to me, it seems a bit like a nervous thing, like some people pull their eyelashes out or scratch themselves.
Have you been to the doctors about it?

Not about the eating of them. I just assumed it was a habit I had to kick, whatever the explanation of why i do it is, only I can stop it, because it's stupid.

I just really want to know if it could harm me.

To be honest Mark, I think only a professional could actually tell you the answer to that - it's not exactly the sort of thing you'd be able to find out from a book or something.

You could maybe try asking this in the science section. They might know.
You can't repeat the question word for word though, as it would be removed.

Do you think cutting a smoker's life insurance premiums is a good enough incentive for them to give up their habit?
