What are the strongest painkillers you can buy - my son has been given some Cocodamol after a hand operation. If I contact the doctor will there be any stronger I can get for him - short term
(13:35 on Wed 01/Nov/06)Cocodamol is probably the best since coproxomol was banned a few weeks ago. If the pain is severe talk to your Doctor or phone NHS direct.
(13:48 on Wed 01/Nov/06)Contact the Doctor and take your stash of co proxomol back to the chemists. They are not a very nice tablet and should not be given to anyone under 18.
(15:23 on Wed 01/Nov/06)Cocodamol are not that good, having only about 5mg of codeine, the rest being paracetemol. Dihydrocodeine are by far the best with 32mg of codeine per tablet, but are only available on prescription. Best over the counter are in fact Neurofen Plus, having the most amount of codeine available over the counter - around 10mg. Believe me, I suffer with a bad back and teeth (!) and have looked into this before...
(17:35 on Wed 01/Nov/06)Over the counter you can now get Paramol which have got 12.5mg of Codeine in them and they are quite good. The doctor may be able to give you stronger co-codomol. The ones I take for my arthritis have got 30mg of codeine in them and so are slightly stronger than coproximol.
(15:02 on Fri 02/Nov/07)No one would make the connection between the two of us, and no one would prosecute for 2 boxes anyway. Well I could make it worth your while. Email me if your at all interested.
