Hi everyone, this isn't a question, more a suggestion! A friend of mine has set up an online support network for anyone who has been affected by cancer. Please spread the word to anyone you think could find this of help: http://www.cancerbuddiesnetwork.org/ The website is for everyone, not just those with cancer, but for partners, children, parents, friends etc. It is supported by Macmillan Cancer Trust, and provides a new database to people to get in touch to share experiences. Best wishes

Fantastic idea.....like ray I wish there had been the internet & this kind of thing available for me (20 yrs ago). At that time, and by my consultant's own admission, there was no emotional support for cancer patients or their families. No one understands as well as those in similar circumstances.

It's a shame there aren't more networks out there. My friend set this one up because her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and her mother ended up doing a lot of work for/with Macmillan. She couldn't believe that a database for networking had never been established before despite the shocking numbers of people diagnosed with cancer and living with cancer each year. That is why Macmillan helped fund this site, and I hope that it helps as many people as possible.
To Ray and mnko - best wishes to your wife and mother respectively
