frightened?

what's the most frightening situation you've ever been in? I had an awful nightmare last night and woke up terrified, and it got me thinking! what's the scariest real life situation you've ever found yourself in??

Getting married - or rather the marriage ceremony itself - loads of lines and actions to learn, video camera in my face, 100plus degree heat, cancelled rehearsal and desperately wanted to get it right first time - still fluffed a line. Worth every gut-wrenching minute though

Servants Beenee?....gawd if i wanted to meet you before i really do now!!!! Hope you can make it to the convention (Sat 22nd)...as for me probably the time when a gay chap i knew wouldn't take no for an answer and it all got nearly out of hand and he tried to force himself on me....luckily i managed to get away and found some company so i wasn't alone with him again....very hard to cope with and still makes me scared thinking about the whole thing.

I was in Washington DC when the plane hit the Pentagon on Sept 11. For about half an hour I wasn't sure if my husband was alive or not. That whole day was really scary. I had to drive home in a mad panicked rush hour with everyone trying to get out of central DC at the same time. Then I had to drive back into town later that evening to pick up my husband. By then the place was deserted and I only saw police, taxis and army vehicles on the roads.
Either that or the sniper..

I posted this question because I couldn't think of a truly scary situatiton i'd ever been in, am now thinking I'm a very lucky person, thanks! k

I manage a music venue,and about six years ago at the end of the night one of the punters pulled a gun out on 2 members of staff and I. He was very quickly pinned to the floor and disarmed by us. If that was not scary enough passing a pistol to a group of armed coppers with machine guns pointed at you just seemed to finish the night off in style.

I was in Abu Dhabi airport immediately after the events of September 11th and waiting for an ongoing flight to Brunei when passengers from our flight were ordered to passport control and had our passports confiscated. We were then herded onto a coach despite our protestations and taken off to Abu Dabi City. After a high speed journey around the city we were taken to a hotel for lunch and finally someone explained that the on going plane was delayed and we were being shown Islamic hospitality. It was only our fear and suspicion that made the early part of the experience terrifying. We were stuck at the airport for another two days and quickly made friends with all the muslim travellers returning to Pakistan by looking after their children whilst their parents went to the prayer rooms. They were also delayed and happily shared their food and drinks with us.
