magnetic bracelet for Sciatica

Read an old thread about Sciatica where AB'er Apricot said he/she had bought the bracelet and had felt relief almost instantly.

Does anyone else have any experience with magnetic bracelets? Are they the same as those copper ones you see in the shops?

There was a feature about these on chanel four news this lunchtime the reporter said that they are now approved by the NHS .the person who started it all off was on he said he had cured his dog with them and then moved on to other animals and finally humans he has a range of them that he claims cures quite a lot of ailments .

It would appear that they are totally ineffective:

surely common sence should tell you that a few little magnets round your wrist can not possibly have any effect on your health?! I mean, how exactly is that supposed to happen? It mystifies me that so many people can be taken in by this sort of thing.

I can't explain it either, but it does help some animals (and you can't claim that's a placebo effect!).

Surely the fact that there's absolutely no scientific evidence whatsoever shouldn't prevent someone using it if it helps them? Who cares about evidence and explanations - if it alleviates the pain of sciatica (ouch!) then go for it.

My other half is down to earth and doesn't beleive in any 'mumbo jumbo' stuff. However for the last year has had increasing problems with painful knees, ?artritis. after several months of taking painkillers I bought him a magnetic bracelet, since wearing it he hasn'nt needed to take any tablets and his movement has improved dramatically.

Whether it has actually done anything scientifically or it is just in the mind he doesn't care , it worked.

happy-face I got it from MagneticTherapy (Ads at the side of this page) I went for a cheap one to start £15 just to see if it would work and it did.

Just enter magnetic jewellery on a search engine and loads of sites will come up. There is one site Zarifeh Magnet Therapy that sells the most gorgeous silver magnetic jewellery. Thats the one i'l be using next!!

Do as we did, get a cheap one first see if it works, Then go from there.
