I don't often take well to insect bites particularly bites from cleggs (or horse flies) which get very red, spread out, become swollen, hard, hot and itchy.
About 4-6 weeks ago I was bitten by something on my knee. It didn't react too badly at all - it was itchy and red and angry for a few days and then died down.
However the itch has continued. It isn't itchy all the time but 2-3 times per day it gets very itchy for about 20 mins and then it passes again. It is no longer red or inflamed, just a little dot where the bite was.
This has happened before with other bites and I'm interested to know why it is happening.
Thanks.

Really? I wouldn't think of going to GP about it, I am just interested in why it would still be itchy intermittently especially when there doesn't seem to be any redness etc.
Well it is no big deal and i agree that i would not trouble your GP.
It may well be that the "sting" is still in situ.
You body will deal with it.
