I'm going to have my first tattoo on the outside edge of my upper thigh, about where my palm lands if I put my arms at my side. Can anyone tell me in real terms how painfull this is going to be,can you liken it to anything else that I would know so that I'm prepared please

I had my first one done on the lower part of my stomach, didn't hurt, got another one done on my upper back, that bloody hurt, never again after that one.
I wont hurt half as much HAVING it as when you decide to have it removed in 10 years time because tatoos have gone out of fashion.

It will also cost a LOT more to have it removed.

Don't join the herd, be an individual and stay clean of the stupid things.
the further from bone, the better. I don't know why you'd want one on your thigh removed, it's hardly going to be a public embarrassment. If you want one, go for it.

Some guidelines here

Follow the herd.....
I can never understand any anyone would want a tattoo. It's just my opinion, but I think they are hideous.
It will hurt a lot when you no longer want it
..and will hurt your pocketeven more when that day dawns....and it will !!
Why are people assuming George will want it removed? I know loads of people with tattoos and don't know anyone who has has them removed.

George on that part of your leg it probably won't hurt too much.
I know lots of people with tattoos too, many of them wish they hadn't got them.
snap boaty ..don't look so good on old crepey saggy flesh years later !!
People with old crepey saggy flesh don't tend to flash the flesh :-)

I don't like tattoos myself but every now and then I do see one that looks nice.

My dad had one on his forearm and it did look rubbish but I think the ink has improved a lot since then.
Exactly minty. there is a girl, about 19 - 20 with a tattoo on her face. She was quite a pretty girl before she got that.
That I really can't understand. What on earth was she thinking?!
I don't think she was thinking. It's a bleeding heart on her cheek. It looks hideous and spoils what was a pretty face.
And could ruin her chances of employment.
And romance!
I had to tell a lad that the dotted line with cut here round his neck ..teardrops from his eye and love and hate on his knuckles did not enhance his employment prospects..he didn't agree !!!
I wonder if he does now! I wouldn't employ someone so daft as to do that!
murray you were lucky

teardrop means he ' s killed someone
and love and hate are common going into prison and coming out ( erm of prison )

I used to have a car repair business so tattoos weren't an issue to us in the main but I wouldn't employ them to work in the office.

George is talking about his thigh though which is easily covered up.
