The subject was discussed on a phone-in on BBC Radio Scotland last week. 'Dr Tom', a retired GP and regular contributor mentioned 'popcorn lung', an irreversible disease linked to certain flavourings used in some liquids.
Just Google popcorn lung for as many links as you're likely to need.

It seems to come on quickly and quite horribly.

'Safer' may not be the word to use.
I always thought it was, still no need to inflict it on the rest of us.
Far safer still is not indulging in such habit forming unsocial practices.
All I know is that lungs were developed to breathe AIR
Never having done either....I can say that I don't really care.

I'm 100% against smoking, but this may give ammunition to those who want to be allowed to 'Vape' in pubs and bars!

As long as you don't do it anywhere near me and mine I really don't care what you inflict on yourself tbh.
I've never been asked to stop vaping, anywhere. The ecigs I use don't use flavouring liquids. They just use nicotine and all that comes out is, odourless steam and, not very much of that, anyway.

Vaping is not actually banned in pubs , it is down to each landlord/owner. But I don't know any that allow it, the problem is it is hard to tell smoke from vapour, allow vaping and they will try to sneak a crafty ciggie is the usual answer.
That's daft Eddie, man. You could tell a real ciggie from an ecig in about one second flat.
it's not steam chrissa, urban myth, it's propylene glycol and other nasties.
Do you smoke them, TTT? The ones I use do not have a liquid reservoir and has no "nasties." Propylene glycol, I doubt is used but even if it is, it's been used for many years in foods for a very long time.
I would advise any cigarette smoker to try Vaping.

"Until recently, the vapor that puffs from e-cigarettes in place of tobacco smoke has drawn little attention. In fact, many fans of e-cigs say that, because they create a mist produced by propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin rather than smoke, "
I vape in the same way I smoked, well away from anyone who isn't smoking or who dislikes it.

I also investigated the levels and dangers of PG in my ecigs (the same ones as Chrissa) and was content in the relative safety compared to cigarettes.

These are what I use. No liquid, no flavours, no smell.

They do have PG but see my comments above.
Very interesting, mamya. Our posts crossed. :)
Someone mentioned 'Popcorn Lung' earlier , that is attributed to Diacetyl found in some of the sweeter flavoured ecigs - vanilla etc.

There is some confusion still about this too but as I wouldn't touch those I'm content for now.
Me too.
