Hello!

Last month we got into two subjects near the end, both on the theme of measuring in their own way:

1. O_G had a lot of data which he was able to look back at and find interesting blips. It's really good to be able to see the whole story from time to time. Do any of you track/measure with anything like a fit-bit or other step counter, or exercise measurer?

2. How do you know if you're making progress? For example, that pair of jeans, a tape measure, or even, just what the scales say...

3. And finally, apart from here, where do you look for your external encouragement from?

That should be enough to get us started!

Here's last month's thread:

Just to check in - I was at 85.5KG yesterday - and I am over the moon. Cheeseburgers all round, right?

(Seriously though, I got a new bike so have been hammering that about so I imagine that's something to do with it - as well as staying healthy and off the boozy stuff)

I am well on my way to the 82kg goal if I keep this up. Which I won't most likely, as this Friday includes me cooking up something filthy for some friends.
Another 3 kilos in March so 15 now in total in 3 months and a bit.

I've just worked it out, and if I stay at 85.5 I am 14.3 kilos down since the 2nd Jan. Which is pretty good!

Well done Islay.
That's very good Ed, I want to lose a further 5 stone by September.
Cheers Ed.
Congrats Islay.

External encouragement ? You mean comments like, "Your goal weight is too thin", and, "I got us this nice high calorie thing to share" ? Anyway so far staying stable this week, but the weekend is coming up.
Good morning all,

Still the ~#*^>
Hmmmm why did only half my answer get printed?

Your goal sounds obtainable Islay. Do you do any walking or training which is a big help if you can both physically and mentally. It's like your own built in cheering section.
Down 0.6 lbs. In the right direction still, even if only slightly. And yet again, a drop (albeit a mere fraction) over the high intake weekend.
I weigh myself every day, even though I know that is something which you are advised not to do. If my weight has gone up slightly, I tend to be more careful during the day. If my weight has decreased, I make myself three pieces of hot buttered toast for breakfast. :-)

It seems to work for me. My weight is very stable.
Oh Tilly2
How I envy you!

I'd put on weight just looking at buttered toast, let alone eating 3 pieces of it.
Good Morning All. :-))

FINALLY I'm going down instead of marking time so this Wedneday is starting out well. Hope to hear the same from you.

Good morning all . Well, done xstitcher I too have moved the right way just a little after staying the same for awhile .never give up .
Great !
After my weekend I'm not holding my breath for progress. Had gone up Since Saturday when I weighed myself yesterday.
And good for you too Wend. (Sneaking in there as I typed :-) )
Good for you Wendilla. It gets so depressing just staying the same even when we know we're doing all the right things.

Poor you OG. I have the feeling that you really aren't overweight, just keeping an eye on things, am I right?
No I'm definitely overweight, I dropped out of the obese category quite a while ago now, but have made little progress since.

This is particularly weird. The scales tell me I dropped 1.6 lbs over 24 hours ?!?! and have ended up with a fall for the week of 0.4 lbs. Not wishing to look a gift horse in the mouth I'll take it.

Just over 27 more lbs to lose then. At 0.4 lbs a week (not that that'll keep up) that'd be another 68 weeks then. Or August 2017. (Barring any Xmas disasters.)
It seems like you and I are in about the same cats gory OG. Do you mind if I share your goal? It seems practical and obtainable.
Category was the right word.
I read it like that anyway :-)
My mind must be going faster than I thought !
Sure, the more the merrier.
Good morning all,

I have put on a kilo this month so I hope that I can pull myself together and get going the other way. I hope your news will be better than mine.
